Painting of the Week

White Strand, Co Clare, Ireland
20 x 30

This is my first submission to Virtual Paintout. It is a neat concept. Every month they pick a location and using Google Maps, you find a street view and then paint it. They post all the submission for that month up on their blog. http://virtualpaintout.blogspot.com/

Here is my street view.
Lot's of fun! I look forward to Januarys location.

Cheers!

Dawn

Beautiful painting! And wow - I had no idea Google was rendering images in 3D that way. That's kinda cool, and scary.

I know. It's is kinda scary and they get better all the time. Make sure to keep your curtains closed.

Haha! No kidding!

I just read more about the project, and I agree it's a fascinating concept. If Google has allowed artists to use those images as references, there's suddenly an almost unlimited # of works of art that could result. That part is really cool. There is some amazing art out there, yours included!

Great submission. I love those pink and blue hues on the houses.
Looking forward to see more of your work at the Virtual Paintout in the months to come.

Dawn- best of luck- really impressed with your work lady!!!
maybe someday you can visit us at the beach and give the boys a homeschool art lesson & get some new beautiful inspirations for your work- are you familiar with the sanibel/ sarasota area? we are a little bitty (more private) island community in between.
anyways- happy new year!
