Whoo Hoo! I finished my painting for the day!

I have been trying to keep the energy in my paintings and not over work and over explain, so today I worked with oil and palette knife to see what I could make of it.

Painting for Day 3

"Sunshine" 12x12 oil on canvas

After a couple of disasters in the studio, I was finally able to pull this one out.

Some days you soar with angels and others... not so much.

Oh, well I look forward to seeing what happens tomorrow. At least now I can work in the studio for the rest of the day and I don't have to finish anything!

Alright, here is my painting for day 2.

a wreak with half finished paintings!

Day 1, 30 paintings in 30 days

Okay, here is the first one off the easel for the 30 Day Challenge.

I have really set my intention yet for the challenge, but at least I've started and I'll have to come up with a focus soon.

New Works from the Studio

"Carla's Fall Workshop"  6x12 study

My friends, Jim and Carla, brought me this great photo from Ill.

My friends brought me this great photo. They just knew it would make a great painting.

I just finished a small study and know I'm ready to work on the big'un!

The larger one is going to be 24"x 36". I always like to paint a small one to work out the composition.

Let's see what happens next!

Back in the Studio

After weeks of working on the house, it is nice to get back in the studio. Below is a painting I just started and can't wait to see how it develops.

It's fun to work on a large piece. I like getting to use my whole body in the painting.

This is a fair as I have gotten.

Doors and Trim - which I will repaint before starting the floors

YAY, ripping up linoleum!

30 Paintings in 30 Days

Finally! A challenge that I might can actually finish. 30 Paintings in days.

I am going to kick off my New Year by painting my butt off.  Leslie Saeta ,http://www.lesliesaeta.blogspot.com/, through out this challenge yesterday. 

We are going to start on Jan 2. So far, about 70 artists have joined.  Go to Leslie's blog if you would like to join us. It will be fun...and no push ups!!
